Hong Kong Dark Report: January 2025
The Hong Kong Dark Report is a tool to help the buy side understand and navigate the Hong Kong market structure on a per stock basis. The report highlights dark market data points including dark % of turnover and trends, dark trade sizes, block turnover and statistical highlights, amongst others.
HSCI dark opened 2025 on an improved activity at 2.0% of total market turnover, up +16%.
Another month for ESR 1821.HK being the most active name in dark at 50.8% and 12% of trading came from Liquidnet.
Real Estate and Communication Services hit new record highs of 3.3% (+6%) and 2.9% (+111%) respectively. Mainly led by ESR 1821.HK, Netease 9999.HK, HKT 6823.HK, Tencent Music 1698.HK and Swire 1972.HK, with an average of 19% of market turnover.
